Alice Walker
Alice Malsenior Walker (ur. 9 lutego 1944 w Eatonton) to amerykańska pisarka o afrykańskich, czirokeskich i szkocko-irlandzkich korzeniach, a także aktywistka oraz feministka.
Urodziła się w Eatonton w stanie Georgia. Jej powieść Kolor purpury (The Color Purple) została uhonorowana Nagrodą Pulitzera oraz National Book Award.
Walker pełniła także rolę redaktorki w Ms. Magazine. Jej artykuł z 1975 roku przyczynił się do wznowienia zainteresowania twórczością innej czarnoskórej pisarki, Zory Neale Hurston.
Oprócz pisarstwa, Walker jest również zaangażowana w działalność polityczną. W 1996 roku wysłała protest do prezydenta Billa Clintona w sprawie embargo nałożonego na Kubę. Jest wegetarianką.
