Albert King

Albert King, właściwie Albert Nelson (urodzony 25 kwietnia 1923 w Indianoli, zmarł 21 grudnia 1992 w Memphis) – amerykański gitarzysta i wokalista bluesowy. Należy do grona „trzech królów bluesa” obok B.B. Kinga i Freddiego Kinga. Ze względu na swoją wagę (118 kg) zyskał przydomek „The Velvet Bulldozer”.

Był samoukiem, a swoją przygodę z muzyką rozpoczął na gitarze, którą sam skonstruował. Najczęściej grał na modelu Gibson Flying V, który nazywał Lucy. Jako leworęczny gitarzysta wyróżniał się na scenie.

Albert King inspirował wielu późniejszych gitarzystów, w tym Jimi Hendrixa, Eric Claptona, Mike’a Bloomfielda, Gary’ego Moore’a, Stevie Ray Vaughan oraz Joe Bonamassa.
