Al Hirt
Al Hirt, właściwie Alois Maxwell Hirt (urodzony 7 listopada 1922 w Nowym Orleanie, zmarły 27 kwietnia 1999 w tym samym mieście), był amerykańskim trębaczem jazzowym oraz liderem zespołu muzycznego.
Uczył się w konserwatorium w Cincinnati. Jako pierwszy trębacz występował w zespołach Tommy’ego Dorseya, Jimmy’ego Dorseya oraz Raya McKinleya. Ze względu na swoją posturę (ważył 130 kg i miał 183 cm wzrostu) zyskał przydomki: „The Monster” oraz „The King”.
Do jego najpopularniejszych nagrań należą: „Java”, „Fancy Pants”, „Just Because”, „Personality”, „Panama”, „Jazz Mr. Blues”, „Sugar Lips”.
