A Wasted Vigil to wiersz angielskiego poety Algernona Charlesa Swinburne’a, który został opublikowany w zbiorze Poems and Ballads. Second Series. Książka ta ukazała się w Londynie w 1878 roku, wydana przez wydawnictwo Chatto & Windus, a następnie została wznowiona w Nowym Jorku w 1885 roku. Wcześniej utwór nosił tytuł A Lost Vigil. Składa się on ze strof czterowersowych, które rymują się w schemacie aabb. Pierwsze trzy wersy mają po dwa metry dziesięciozgłoskowe (jambiczne pięciostopowe sSsSsSsSsS), natomiast ostatni wers jest krótszy, liczy sześć zgłosk
